Integrating the Arts

A common misconception of martial arts is that they all fall into a particular category, karate practitioners say that a strike came from thier style, where as kung fu practitioners say it came from theirs. A strike is a strike. Being a student of any form or style, when that stike is being learned, it becomes something different. As progress is made and a deeper understanding is realized, in the end the strike is still a strike.

Guidance and instruction by Guro Dan Inosanto has taught what the late Bruce Lee has been saying all along, that fighting is something man created, not created by nationality. Until we meet a being with four arms or three legs, that's when things change.

Training in different arts will enable us to find out what our body can and cannot do, what the body favors in movement and execution. That's why it's good to experience other arts.  The foundation of the I.M.P.A.C.T. striking arts use the Filipino Martial Arts, Majapahit Arts and Muay Thai in combination.  The blending of these arts has been developed into a diverse system where the structures can shift seamlessly without the need to re-assess the situation.
