This past weekend, a few of us had the privilege of training with Grandmaster Chai Sirisute of the Thai Boxing Association (TBA) during a seminar at Dick Harrell’s Martial Arts in Charlotte, NC. It was such a great opportunity to be able to train with our instructor and the man responsible for bringing Muay Thai to the United States.
The seminar was a wonderful weekend of reuniting with old TBA family, making new friends, training hard, and having fun working with some of the best and most gracious Muay Thai fighters around. Plus, we had the pleasure of watching four of our TBA teammates earn their apprentice instructorship during a very difficult test. Our master instructor, Khun Kru Ervin, even got to hold pads to test one of the Kru candidates and was mentioned by GM Chai as the top pad holders of the east coast.
Everyone left the seminar with a fresh reminder of why we train Muay Thai, why we love it, and why we’re grateful to train with Grandmaster Chai and the TBA.
