Ranging from our Tribe mates from our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, and Filipino Martial Arts classes to visiting friends from the surrounding Hampton Roads area, we had tremendous support from all around for our balisong (buttefly knife) workshop. Organized and taught by one of our youngest and most dedicated apprentice instructor and kuyas, Geno, the balisong workshop was a fun and rewarding training opportunity for both Geno and all who attended. Kuya Geno introduced the origins of the balisong, some of the history surrounding it, and then shared some of his favorite techniques with the iconic Filipino cultural weapon. Every student went home with a brand new balisong trainer, a few new tricks, some Filipino history, and great memories. Thanks again to everyone whoe came out to support and look forward to workshops like this one in the future!
